What is the Barnes and Noble Bookfair? How can I support it?

Barnes and Noble bookfairs are fundraisers in which anyone can participate! All purchases made (except for gift cards) are eligible for 5% or 10% donated directly to Seacoast Reads. The only catch is you need the special ID number for our event, which is: 10587251.

This great event is taking place from November 11th through November 16th! In terms of shopping, supporting this fundraiser can be in-store or online! Just be sure to write down the ID before going to the store or have it ready when you checkout online.

And for the kids, from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, November 11th there will be tons of free activities at the Newington, NH Barnes and Noble near Regal Cinemas and the Fox Run Mall! Events include: face painting, bingo, bookmark making, and stories read every hour on the hour! The Pease Greeters will also be here for the event.

If online shopping is preferable, simply go to http://www.bn.com/bookfairs to make your purchase(s) between November 11th and November 16th. On the payment page, select the prompt "check if this is a bookfair order". A screen will pop up allowing you to enter the special ID for our event.

What is Seacoast Reads?

Seacoast Reads is a local implementation of the America Reads Challenge.
Our Mission is
♦ to help children increase proficiency in reading and writing
♦ to develop self-confidence and
♦ to encourage a love of reading.

Seacoast Reads places UNH volunteers into local elementary schools and after-school programs to help 2nd and 3rd grade students improve their reading and writing skills.

Each volunteer travels with a group to their site twice per week throughout the semester and works one-on-one with their "reading buddy," reading books aloud together, practicing writing, and playing word games.
